The Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, through the Tourism Development Department continuously support the sustainable of tourism industry based on community in Kampong Ayer specifically, and in Brunei Darussalam in general. The latest, the ministry launched the initiatives that highlighted tourism products in the country with the launching of ' The Kampong Ayer Walking Trail' atau ' Lauan Pejalan Kaki di Kampong Ayer' yesterday morning.
The walking trail connected five Kampongs namely, Kampung Lurong Sikuna; Kampung Setia 'A', Kampung Tamoi Ujung, Kampung Peramu and Kampung Bakut Berumput. Speaking at the event, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism said, there are many interesting views along the route. According to Pengiran Haji Kamalrudzaman bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Ishak, the visitors among others have an opportunity to visit local cake producer and wood carpentry as well as to watch the traditional life-style of the residents in Kampung Ayer.
The 'kampung Ayer Walking Trail' officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism.
The launching of walking trail is hoped to increase the varieties of package and activities offered by travel agencies. It also gives benefit to the tourists with more selection offered and encourage them to stay longer with more activities in the country. Also present, Members of Legislative Council.
