The country's poor and destitute continues to receive due attention from the Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB. Yesterday morning, a ceremony to present Zakat or Tithe Distribution was held at four separate locations.

The tithes were presented by Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Akop, Acting Secretary of MUIB to four recipients. Awang Haji Damit bin Haji Mohd Salleh from Kampong Sungai Buloh Kampung Landless Indigenous Scheme, Awang Mohammad Sardi bin Haji Timor and Awang Haji Malik bin Haji Bakar received the tithe in the form of hearing aid, while Awang Muhammad Rizal bin Mohammad Zaini from Kampong Lambak Kiri Landless Indigenous Scheme received a grass cutting machine. The tithe distribution is hoped to raise the recipient's spirit and encourage them to work harder in order to improve their quality of life.
