The 2nd Entrepreneurship Day launched today is an effort to instil awareness on the importance of entrepreneurship to national economic development. The 2-day event is organised by the Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA.

It was officiated by Doctor Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, the Rector of UNISSA. This year the UNISSA Entrepreneurship Day is empowered by Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, BIBD, a key player in the development of entrepreneurship in the country and in efforts towards realising Wawasan Brunei 2035. Apart from business activities, the event includes the Information Sharing Session which involves several related agencies such as the Job Centre Brunei, BIBD, Darussalam Enterprise DARe, Halal Food Control Division and Bank Usahawan.

The Entrepreneurship Day also presents eight BIBDSEEDS Programme participants comprising single mothers who receive aid from the BIBD Zakat Fund. As a result of their hard work and determination, the participants are now self-reliant and run their own enterprises. The event is open to the public until tomorrow from 8 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon.
