The Continuing Education and Training Division, Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE); the Language Centre of University Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and the Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam this afternoon organised the Japanese Speech Competition. The contest was held at the School of Aviation, IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus.

His Excellency Motohiko Kato, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam in his remarks stated that the Japanese Speech Contest is a good opportunity to demonstrate the results of the linguistic studies participants. His Excellency believes that the contest is also a good opportunity to deepen the mutual understanding apart from fostering a greater friendship between the two countries. Present was Doctor Haji Mohd. Zamri bin Haji Sabli, Acting Director of Technical Education who is also the Chief Executive Officer of IBTE. The contest was divided into two categories, the group presentation category and the speech category. The contest aimed to encourage contestants to demonstrate their proficiency in Japanese language to the public.
