Arabic Language Day is celebrated globally every 18th of December. The celebration's date was set since 2010 by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO to commemorate the recognition of Arabic Language as one of the six official languages in the world which is used by the UN. The Arabic Language Centre of Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB held the celebration at the Dewan Ta'lim of the University College.
Present was Mr. Mahmood Khamis Mohamed Al-Hinai, Charge d'Affaires of the Sultanate of Oman as the representative of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam. The celebration highlighted the involvement of the KUPU SB staff specifically students from the Language Centre in disseminating the use of Arabic Language through formal and non-formal education. Also present was Doctor Haji Abang Hadzmin Bin Haji Abang Taha, the Acting Ra'es of KUPU SB. The ceremony was enlivened with the Arabic Language Forum by Arabic undergraduates of the KUPU SB.
