The 43th MABIMS Senior Officers Meeting began yesterday. It is being held for 2 days.

The country's delegation is led by Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof; the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz in his speech emphasised the need for MABIMS members to discover the approaches and experience of member countries in facing and finding ways to curb Liberal Islam.

Yang Terhormat Bapak Prof. Dr. Phil. H. Mohamad Nur Kholis Setiawan, M.A., the Sercretary General of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia in his speech said the phenomenon of religious liberalisation continues in the republic even today.

Meanwhile, Yang Berbahagia Datuk Haji Mohamad Nordin bin Ibrahim; the Director General of Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia -JAKIM, said Malaysia today not only faces scores of deviant teachings but also the influence of religious liberalism and pluralism which contradict the teachings of the Ahli Sunnah wal Jamaah.

Encik Haji Abdul Razak Hassan Maricar; the Chief Executive of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, MUIS stressed the phenomenon of Diversity in the Orientation and View of the World of Religion is something which can spread easily in the increasingly borderless world due to technology and the internet.

Also in attendance were Awang Haji Mohd. Seruddin bin Haji Timbang; the Deputy Permanent Secretary (policy and Religion) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Awang Haji Adenan bin Haji Besar; the Ra'es of the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB.
