Five students and a teacher from Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College will represent Brunei Darussalam in the High School Students Summit on “World Tsunami Awareness Day” 2018 at Wakayama, Japan. The 2-day summit will be held from the 31st of this month. The send-off ceremony for the participants to the summit was held yesterday morning at the Embassy of Japan in Kampung Kiulap.
During the ceremony, His Excellency Motohiko Kato, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam expressed hope that the participants can learn about the measures and knowledge for protecting people’s lives from disasters through various activities during the summit. More than 400 participants from 49 countries including Japan and Brunei Darussalam will attend the High School Students Summit. The summit aims to deepen international understanding and raise awareness of the threat of tsunami and precautionary measures against them.
