The Royal Brunei Police Force has thwarted a smuggling activity of contraband goods into the country during an operation at the Limau Manis border area night of 29th September. Superintendent of Police Haji Mohd Khairul Amilin bin Haji Idris, Acting Commanding Officer of Police Reserve Unit disclosed the identity of the two Malaysian offenders who were arrested during the operation.
According to Superintendent of Police Haji Mohd Khairul Amilin, the 'C' Company Reserve Unit of the Royal Brunei Police Force thwarted the smuggling of various types of cigarettes into the country at the Limau Manis border last night. In the 'Ops Langkah' Operation, carried out by 6 personnel, two Malaysians were arrested at Simpang 1580, Jalan Paip, Limau Manis border. The arrested men and all contraband goods were investigated under Section 146 (1)(d) and Section 146 (1)(i) Excise Order 2006. As such, the police force advises the public not to get involved in any unlawful activities in Brunei Darussalam.
