Three drivers were issued compounds for offences under the Road Traffic Act during a mobile operation conducted by the Land Transport Department’s Enforcement Section at Jalan Tanjung Belayang, Temburong District on the 14th of this month.
Morgan Tommy Gimbar was issued a 50-dollar compound for driving a vehicle that was in poor condition. Meanwhile, Melvine Morris Tadam was issued a 50-dollar compound and 6 SiKAP demerit points for driving a vehicle with bald tyres, and another 50-dollar compound for driving a vehicle with an unsafe frame. Another driver, Wilson Bina Baru was also issued a 50-dollar compound for driving a vehicle with a cracked windscreen.
A 150-dollar compound and 9 SiKAP demerit points were issued to Hasibur Rahman Khan for failing to fasten seatbelts while driving at Jalan Jangsak Mulaut Masin on the 19th of this month. A similar compound and demerit points were also issued to Abu Bakar Azmi for the same offence at Jalan Sengkurong on the 20th of this month. The Land Transport Department will continue to conduct patrols and operations at roads in the country, and will not hesitate to issue compounds or demerit points to any drivers who fail to comply with the Road Traffic Act.
