25th BIMP-EAGA Ministerial Meeting
The 25th BIMP-EAGA Ministerial Meeting welcomed the improvement proposals from the Mid-Term Review, MTR of the BIMP-EAGA Vision 2025, or BEV 2025 as a driver towards economic recovery and the achievements of three outcomes namely clean and environmentally friendly manufacturing; agriculture and fisheries industries that are competitive and resilient towards climate change; and as a developed multi-country tourist destination. The 25th BIMP-EAGA Ministerial Meeting and BIMP-EAGA Ministerial Retreat in Pontianak, Kalimantan, Indonesia was held recently on the 25th and 26th of November. Earlier, the 30th BIMP EAGA Senior Officials’ Meeting took place on the 24th of November.
Present at the meeting was Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy for Economy. At the meeting, the MTR also proposed for improving BIMP-EAGA institutions’ capacity to further enhance coordination and delivery of result in the sub-region. The meeting also underlined BIMP-EAGA’s commitment in fully implementing the BEV 2025. Also highlighted was the need for BIMP-EAGA to start creating the foundations for the BIMP-EAGA Post 2025. The meeting also welcomed the Chief Ministers, Governors and Local Government Forum to be reactivated.
