Presentation of Working Papers

Two main papers were presented during the Divine Vaccine Understanding Education and Religious SOP Seminar.

Yang Berbahagia Dato’ Haji Badli Shah bin Haji Alaudin, Senior Imam at Sultan Ahmad Satu State Mosque, Pahang, Malaysia presented the main paper titled “the implementation of Divine Vaccine and Religious SOP in family and community during the pandemic: Holistic Education guided by Al-Quran and As-Sunnah.” The paper highlighted the importance of broadening the understanding of Divine Vaccine and Religious SOP among the community and family.

Meanwhile, Yang Berbahagia Puan Hatijah binti Hashim, Research Officer, Pulau Pinang Consumer Association, Malaysia in her main paper title “Challenges of Muslim Consumers during COVID-19 Outbreak: Malaysian Experience.” Among the things shared were the concerns of Muslims on the halal aspect of vaccines. Based on the principle of maqasid syariah, the use of vaccines during an emergency is allowed for treating and preventing diseases.

Divine Vaccine Understanding Education and Religious SOP Seminar

The Divine vaccine in the form of practices such as doa or supplication, zikir, istighfar, selawat, recitation of Al-Qur’an has its own strength in repelling harm and calamity. The Religious SOP outlined by Allah and His Messenger, when not obeyed will bring harm to life. This was among the matters underlined during Premier Working Paper Presentation at the Divine Vaccine Understanding Education and Religious SOP Seminar. With the theme ‘Pengamalan Vaksin Ketuhanan dan S.O.P Ugama Manifestasi Negara Zikir’ or The Practise of Divine Vaccine and S.O.P Religion a Manifestation of the Zikir Nation, the seminar was organised by Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB. It was held in conjunction with the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition 2022 or Brunei MYCE 2022.

Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Japar bin Haji Mat Dain @ Maidin, Deputy State Mufti in his working paper emphasised that Brunei Darussalam’s administration policy is the Malay Islamic Monarchy and Zikir nation as its aspiration which is a country of which the people always remembers Allah in every move. With that, it is hoped to shape a harmonious society and a peaceful as well as prosperous nation. Among those present were Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs; Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Awang Mohd Isham Bin Jaafar, Minister of Health AND Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Meanwhile, Yang Berbahagia Doctor Haji Abdul Somad Batubara from Pengasuh Pesantren Tahfiz Al-Quran Az-Zahra Riau, Indonesia in his virtual talk elaborated on the greatness of the Divine Vaccine Approach and Religious SOP in Facing the pandemic. The seminar was held yesterday morning at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

Several Services Will Be Closed

The Minister of Health also stated that as the current situation of COVID-19 infection in Brunei Darussalam is under control as well as with the decrease in the number of RT-PCR SARS-CoV2 tests performed in Brunei Darussalam due to the increased use of antigen rapid tests, ARTs, as a quick and easy method to detect cases the Community Isolation Center, CIC located at the National Service Programme, PKBN Training Camp in Temburong District and Brunei COVID-19 Airlab BRIDEX Jerudong, BCAL will both be officially closed starting Monday, 6th June 2022 and on Wednesday, 15th June 2022 respectively. Meanwhile, sample analysis for RT-PCR SARS-COV-2 tests will be tested by the National Virology Reference Laboratory in Kampung Sumbiling.
