Working Visit

The exchange of ideas, views and experiences related to current issues, as well as regional and international developments were discussed during the courtesy call of the Minister of Health who is currently on a working visit to the Republic of Singapore under the S R Nathan Fellowship Programme, starting from 8th February until 11th February.

During the visit, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar paid courtesy calls to several leaders of the Republic of Singapore including His Excellency Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister of National Security; His Excellency Lawrence Wong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance; His Excellency Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore; and His Excellency Ong Ye Kung, Minister of Health.

During the courtesy calls, the leaders also welcomed bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, especially health between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore. Also present was His Excellency Dato Paduka Haji Sidek bin Ali, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to the Republic of Singapore.

The Minister of Health also visited Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, SSHSPH, the Health Promotion Board, HPB, Kallang Polyclinic, Singapore Food Agency, SFA; and the Singapore Ministry of Health. The S R Nathan Fellowship, awarded to the Minister of Health by the Government of Singapore, is a high-level programme that enables leaders to hold a dialogue and exchange ideas, experiences and perspectives with leaders and senior government officials from Singapore, as well as promotes understanding and cooperation between Singapore and invited countries.
