FORDYCE, ARKANSAS — A mass shooting in a grocery store parking lot in Fordyce, Arkansas, early Friday morning resulted in two fatalities and ten injuries. The gunman was killed in a shootout with police officers, who responded to the incident.
According to Philippines News Agency, the shooter, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, exchanged gunfire with police officers at the scene. One police officer was injured during the confrontation, though the injuries were reported as non-life-threatening. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated she has been briefed on the “tragic shooting” and praised the swift response of law enforcement and first responders. “I am thankful to law enforcement and first responders for their quick and heroic action to save lives. My prayers are with the victims and all those impacted by this horrific incident,” she expressed via her X account.
