Post: Universiti Brunei Darussalam Launches Green Initiative to Plant 1,985 Trees

Bandar seri begawan: Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) has reinforced its commitment to sustainability through the introduction of the Rooting for the Future programme, an initiative designed to expand green spaces and enhance climate resilience by planting 1,985 trees between 2025 and 2027. According to Radio Television Brunei, the Rooting for the Future programme was inaugurated with a campus-wide and community-driven tree planting activity on April 15, 2026, marking UBD's 40th anniversary. During this event, 40 trees were planted, with the participation of Doctor Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Vice-Chancellor of UBD. This initiative is aligned with the UBD Sustainability Masterplan and the Brunei National Climate Change Policy, aiming to foster sustained, collective action toward environmental stewardship.
