Post: ASEAN Summit Focuses on AI and Innovation for Sustainable Industries

Bandar seri begawan: In conjunction with the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition MYCE 2026, Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) hosted the ASEAN Sustainable Ready Industries 5.0: AI, Research and Innovation Summit. The event, held at UTB, brought together policymakers, researchers, and industry practitioners from across ASEAN and beyond to explore the role of artificial intelligence, research, and innovation in advancing sustainable and future-ready industries.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the summit was attended by notable figures including Awang Haji Mohammad Salihin bin Haji Aspar, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Transport at the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, and Datin Paduka Professor Doctor Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB. His Excellency Chen Chuan, Minister Counselor and Representative of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Brunei, was also in attendance.

The summit also featured the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between UTB and Protasco Bhd, and UTB and Beibu Gulf University. These agreements aim to further strengthen UTB's international collaboration and expand its research and innovation networks.
