In a recent operation by the Reserve Unit 'C' Company of the Royal Brunei Police Force, a significant amount of contraband was seized in the forest area of the Brunei Muara District, near the Brunei-Malaysia border. The operation focused on preventing cross-border crime in the densely forested region.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the operation uncovered several individuals crossing the forest area along a mouse trail on the Brunei-Malaysia border. The suspects were carrying large boxes, suspected to contain contraband items. When ambushed by the police, the suspects managed to flee towards the neighboring country's border, abandoning the contraband.

The operation successfully led to the seizure of 1,650 cartons of various brands of cigarettes. These seized items were subsequently handed over to the Royal Brunei Customs and Excise Department for further investigation and legal action.
