Manila - Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has issued a strong condemnation of the recent bombing at the Mindanao State University (MSU) and surrounding communities in Marawi, Lanao del Sur. In his statement, Marcos described the attack, carried out by foreign terrorists early Sunday morning, as "senseless and most heinous." According to Philippines News Agency, The President confirmed ongoing coordination with the regional government of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and local government units in response to the attack. He expressed gratitude for their immediate actions and support for the victims. Marcos has instructed the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines to prioritize the protection and safety of civilians and secure affected communities, with additional security personnel being deployed.
