Physical Driving License

As an additional measure, the public who apply and renew a Driving License after 8th of December 2021 start being given a physical Driving License card and no longer receive SMS. The Minister of Transport and Infocommunication shared, for applications made before that date, LTD will issue a physical driving license card in stages.

 

For driving license, SMS vehicle license or e-receipt received during application through the service either online through portal www.gov.bn or TrasportBN application or Talian Darussalam; or receipt received during the application through the services of LTD branch counters or Post Office branch counters are still used. MTIC also informed the installation of a Vehicle License Sticker or Vehicle License is no longer necessary to be installed on the windshield of the vehicle.

 

MTIC and LTD has held briefings and discussions with certain parties in the country including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Royal Brunei Police Force, the Deputy High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam in Malaysia, including the Consulate of Brunei Darussalam in Sabah and Sarawak. However, the public especially the drivers who intend to go out to neighbouring countries are advised to print the Vehicle License from the TransportBN application in advance to be kept in the vehicle for any possibility it is needed only. If required, the public also has the option to print their Vehicle License at LTD branches in each district.
