Ousmane Masseck Ndiaye International Airport in Saint-Louis Commences Operations

On December 7, 2023, Senegal celebrated the inaugural flight of Air Senegal marking the operational commencement of the Ousmane Masseck Ndiaye International Airport in Saint-Louis. The airport's renovation and service initiation are part of the Senegal Airports Reconstruction Program (PRAS).

According to Africa News Agency, Minister of Air Transport and Airport Infrastructure Development, Antoine Mbengue, officially approved the airport's operations during a ceremony, handing over the approval to Abdoulaye Dièye, the Director General of AIBD SA. The newly renovated airport, named after the former president of the Economic and Social Council (CES) Ousmane Masseck Ndiaye, represents a significant advancement in Senegal's aviation infrastructure. The renovation of the airport involved an investment of 23.262 billion FCFA.
