Operasi Sepadu

The Ministry of Religious Affairs reminded all vendors in the country to ensure that the raw meat received from suppliers is halal and legal either from a local slaughter centre that has a halal certificate, a slaughter certificate and a supply licence or an importer that has obtained a halal import permit from the Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB.

This was following a jointly operation conducted by the Halal Food Control Division, the Syari'ah Affairs Department and the Royal Customs and Excise Department on 5th July. The operation at a house in Kampung Kilanas found that Zuraiyati binti Haji Zainal committed an offence under the Excise Order 2006 for possessing 135.8 kilograms of chicken tails and 9.2 kilograms raw meat. She was fined $900.
