Post: Mimaropa Workers to Receive Wage Increase Starting December 7

Manila – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced a wage increase for minimum wage earners and household workers in Region 4-B (Mimaropa), effective from December 7. The increase follows the approval of new wage orders by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB).

According to Philippines News Agency, Wage Order RB-MIMAROPA-11 grants a PHP40 rise in daily minimum pay for private sector workers. Concurrently, Wage Order RB-MIMAROPA-DW-04 facilitates a PHP1,000 monthly increase for kasambahays (household workers). This wage hike is expected to benefit 46,861 minimum wage earners across various sectors in Mimaropa. The new daily minimum wage rates will be PHP395 for establishments employing 10 or more workers and PHP369 for those with less than 10 workers. In addition, 28,269 domestic workers, including 5,800 live-in workers, will see their monthly wages rise to PHP5,500. The wage orders were officially approved on October 24 and published on November 21, with their implementation slated for 15 days post-publication.

This wage adjustment follows the last wage order issued for the region in June 2022. Mimaropa comprises the provinces of Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan.
