Legazpi City Farmers Receive Fertilizer Discount Vouchers

LEGAZPI CITY – Over 1,625 farmers in Legazpi City have been granted fertilizer discount vouchers by the government, each worth PHP4,000, as part of a measure to enhance agricultural productivity and improve the living standards of the agricultural community. The initiative, revealed by the City Agriculture Office (CAO) on Wednesday, is funded with a PHP3.347 million budget under the national rice program of the Department of Agriculture (DA).

According to Philippines News Agency, the selection process involved pre-identifying eligible farmers and submitting their names to the DA, making them qualified recipients of the program. The vouchers can be redeemed at two DA-accredited merchandisers in the city, BIOTECH Agri Supply and SUN Bigaa Poultry Supply. The beneficiaries are part of the DA’s Registry System for the Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA), a comprehensive list aimed at identifying individuals eligible for various government agricultural programs and services. Furthermore, Nas highlighted the city government’s commitment to supplementing this initiative by allocating additional funds for fertilizers to ensure all local rice farmers benefit from subsidized fertilizers, including approximately 1,500 pre-identified farmers still awaiting assistance.
