The ‘SMS Brunei Prihatin’ for the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans or DANA is to enhance the sense of caring among the community to orphans. The project is one of DANA’s efforts in diversifying ways or mechanisms that are easy for the public to give contributions to orphans in the country. The Launching Ceremony for ‘SMS Brunei Prihatin’ for the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for 2021 to 2022 and the Presentation of DANA Contributions to orphans for the purchase of school necessities for the 2022 school session was held yesterday morning. The project will run for 6 months starting today until the 15th of June 2022. People who wish to donate via ‘SMS Brunei Prihatin’ can donate either 100, 50, 20, 15, 10 or 1 Dollar.
The launch was officiated by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Second Minister of Defence as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans.
This year, 3,661 orphans nationwide registered with the DANA Secretariat, will receive the coupon contributions. The coupons were presented by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health as member of the DANA Board of Trustees to the District Officers who will then hand the coupons over to the orphans through the village heads.
