Launching Of Private Sector Salary Guideline and Website

Employers in the private sector are encouraged to utilise the Salary Guideline as a means to implement best practices in developing competitive salary packages in order to attract and retain potential employees. The Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy as Chairman of the Manpower Planning and Employment Council, MPEC, expressed hope that the guideline would serve as a reference on the recommended salary scale based on the identified job positions, especially at the starting point of each career. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah underlined the matter at the launching ceremony of the Private Sector Salary Guideline and MPEC’s official website. The event was held yesterday morning at the Prime Minister’s Office.

The launching of the Salary Guideline is a significant first step towards ensuring local jobseekers and employees receive salaries that are suitable to their skills and productivity at each level of the career ladder. Meanwhile, the MPEC website provides easy access to beneficial information on MPEC initiatives and programmes, apart from acting as a platform for MPEC to conduct research, surveys and obtain feedback from the public on matters related to manpower and human resources.
