In a bid to promote the establishment of a sustainable nation through concerted efforts and a Whole-of-Nation approach, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) and Shell Exploration and Production Brunei (SEPB) recently partnered up with Big BWN Project to launch an extensive workshop series on zero waste education in schools across Brunei Darussalam.
In support of this, BIBD and Big BWN Project will also deliver financial literacy programmes. The nationwide programme is aimed at equipping students with the necessary knowledge and skills to adopt sustainable practices and to make informed financial decisions for a more sustainable future. The initiative was officiated during a signing ceremony of two Memorandum of Understanding, MoU’s.
The first MoU was signed between BIBD, SEPB and Big BWN Project on the zero waste education programme. The second MoU was signed between BIBD and Big BWN Project on financial literacy education programme. The workshop series is open to all schools around the country, primarily in the rural area for years 4 to 12 and will be implemented nationwide, with an interschool competition set to take place towards the end of the project next year.
