The establishment of the Language and Literature Bureau's Writers Academy, DBP through the Literature and Magazine Division is hoped to produce quality and creative children and youth writers. The academy was held on 17th September morning, at DBP in Berakas.
Present was Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Ali bin Haji Radin, Head of Literature and Magazine Division. The implementation of the DBP Writers Academy is held every Sunday, four times a month for 4 semesters. Classes are open to children and teenagers between the ages of 8 and 17. The participants are given exposure to aspects of writing such as writing structure and progressive use of language. The progress of the participants will be monitored every week and they will be provided with a notebook for the counsellor to record their performance.
