MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has formally recognized the outstanding achievements of women in government service as part of the 2023 Awards Rites for Outstanding Government Workers, aligning with the nationwide celebration of Women's Month. CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles acknowledged the achievements of 20 female civil servants who have made significant contributions to their fields and to national development.
According to Philippines News Agency, these women exemplify excellence in public service, demonstrating that gender does not define one's ability to impact positively on society and the nation. Their accomplishments were highlighted in various sectors, from education to public health, showcasing their commitment to improving Filipino lives and upholding gender equality.
Among the notable awardees was Raquel R. Rivera, a Master Teacher from Alaminos City National High School, renowned for her development of educational software. Julie Ann A. Salido from Aklan State University was honored for her innovative contributions to maritime safety and her research in alternative energy for maritime vessels.
The recognition also extended to the Baguio Lead Contact Tracing Team, including Donnabel T. Panes and Mischelle R. Junio, for their strategic response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Julie Rose C. Castro and Rosemarie N. Guevarra from Landbank were celebrated for implementing banking solutions that reach underserved populations, illustrating the impactful integration of technology and finance in public service.
Recipients were awarded a gold-gilded medallion, a presidential plaque, and cash prizes, symbolizing the nation's gratitude for their service and dedication.
