MANILA - In a commanding performance, Chery Tiggo clinched the bronze medal at the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Champions League, overpowering the College of Saint Benilde with a straight-set victory, 25-20, 25-13, 25-13, at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum on Saturday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Mylene Paat and Aby Maraño led the Crossovers with standout performances, showcasing a blend of powerful attacks and defensive plays that propelled their team to victory.

Mylene Paat, the opposite hitter for Chery Tiggo, was instrumental in the win, delivering eight attacks and contributing three blocks. Team captain Aby Maraño complemented Paat’s efforts with eight kills, two blocks, and two service aces. The team also benefited from the prowess of new addition Ara Galang, who added nine attacks and a block to the tally. The match concluded in one hour and 21 minutes, marking a significant triumph for Chery Tiggo.

In a post-match interview, Chery Tiggo's coach, Emilio Reyes Jr., expressed satisfaction with the team's performance, describing the match as a "great fight." This victory comes after Chery Tiggo's defeat in the knockout semifinal game against Petro Gazz on Friday, where they lost in straight sets, 21-25, 19-25, 14-25. Despite this setback, the team's morale remained high, with Ara Galang noting her positive integration into the team and expressing optimism for future improvements.

College of Saint Benilde, which faced defeat against Cignal HD in their semifinal match, had Jhasmin Gayl Pascua leading their efforts with six attacks and one block. Team captain Jessa Dorog, along with Wielyn Estoque and Clydel Catarig, also made contributions to their team's performance.
