Brunei Darussalam Hosts Knowledge Convention 2023 with Theme Focused on Repentance

Brunei Darussalam – The International Convention Centre in Berakas was the venue for this year’s Knowledge Convention, organized in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah’s 77th Birthday Celebration. The theme for the convention was ‘Munajat Senegara Dengan Taubat’ or ‘Nationwide Munajat with Repentance.’

According to Radio Television Brunei, upon arrival, His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha were greeted by high-ranking officials, including ministers and co-chairpersons of the Knowledge Convention 2023 Steering Committee. The event also saw the presence of members of the Royal Family.

The proceedings included the reading of Surah Al-Anbiya and its interpretation, presented by education officers Awang Haji Md Zul-Hafiz bin Awang Tengah and Awang Muhamad Adi Adham bin Ramlan. Doa Selamat was read by State Mufti Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doktor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned.

In his welcoming remarks, the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Defence emphasized daily practices of devotion to Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala in the country. His Majesty then inaugurated the Knowledge Convention 2023 and launched the ‘Majlis Ilmu: Mercu Tanda Intelektualisme Raja Kita – Suluh Negara’ book. A Special Talk titled ‘Munajat Senegara Dengan Taubat’ by the State Mufti, focusing on the importance of immediate repentance, was a key highlight of the event.
