The Japanese Association in collaboration with Green Brunei held a beach cleanup activity, 11th March. Held at Serasa Beach, the activity aimed to raise awareness on the importance of protecting the environment.
Joining the activity was His Excellency Maeda Toru, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Brunei Darussalam who is also the Honorary President of the Japanese Association. Aside from promoting a sense of responsibility in keeping the beaches clean and protect the environment, the activity also aimed to educate the youth and the public on the significance of proper waste management. During the clean-up, a total of 57 plastic bags weighing 477.7 kilogrammes were successfully collected.
