Alchip Technologies Q3 Revenue Sets Fiscal Year ’22 Record

Operating Income and Net Income Up Year-on-Year

Taipei, Taiwan, Nov. 29, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Alchip Technologies set a fiscal year 2022 record with Q3 revenue reaching $117.5 million, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 28 percent over Q3 2021 revenue of $94.1 million, and a quarter-on-quarter increase of 16.2 percent over Q2 2022 revenue of $101.1 million.

Operating income for Q3 2022 is $18.6 million, representing a 21.9 percent year-on-year increase over Q3 2021 results of $14.4 million, but a decline of 3.6 percent from Q2 2022 operating income of $19.3 million.

Net income for Q3 2022 is $14.5 million, equating to a year-over-year increase of 12.6 percent over Q3 2021 net income of $12.9 million, and a slight 0.5 percent increase over Q2 2022 net income of $14.49 million.

Advanced technology, production and designs for 7nm and smaller line-width, accounted for 69 percent of Q3 2022 revenue and 66 percent of revenue for fiscal 2022 to date.  High-performance computing applications drove 78 percent of Q3 2022 revenue and 78 percent of revenue for fiscal year to date.

For the second consecutive quarter, North America, accounted for the largest share of Q3 2022 revenue at 39 percent, followed by Asia Pacific at 38 percent.  For fiscal year 2022, North America markets contributed 36% of revenue, after accounting for only 14 percent for all of 2021.

Management reports that Q3 revenue came mildly lower than expected because production revenue still suffered from tight ABF substrate supply constraints.

“On the other hand, design demand remained robust as most of the projected milestones came in on schedule, but profit margin was down due to a higher percentage of production revenue and other one-time expenses,” explained Alchip President and CEO, Johnny Shen.

Alchip is traded on the Taiwan stock exchange.  The company is extremely well respected in North America, Japan, Israel, Taiwan, and China for its high-performance ASIC design methodology, flexible business model, best-in-class IP portfolio and advanced packaging technology expertise.

Jeito Capital demonstrates European biopharma leadership with first exit with AstraZeneca acquisition of Neogene Therapeutics

Jeito Capital demonstrates European biopharma leadership with first exit with AstraZeneca acquisition of Neogene Therapeutics

  • Deal validates Jeito’s unique investment model of selecting highquality assets developed by world-leading teams in therapeutic areas with high unmet need

Paris, France, November 29th 2022 – Jeito Capital (“Jeito”), the largest fully independent international private equity firm dedicated to healthcare and biopharma, is pleased to announce the realization of its investment in Neogene Therapeutics, Inc. (“Neogene Therapeutics” or “Neogene”) to AstraZeneca a global, science-led biopharmaceutical company. Neogene is a global clinical-stage company pioneering the discovery, development, and manufacturing of next-generation T cell receptor therapies (TCR-Ts). Jeito co-led Neogene’s $110 million Series A financing marking the first investment since the launch of the fund.

Under the terms of the transaction, AstraZeneca will acquire all outstanding shares of Neogene for a total consideration of up to $320 million, on a cash and debt free basis. This will include an initial payment of $200 million on deal closing, and a further up to $120 million in both contingent, milestones-based and non-contingent considerations.

Since Jeito’s investment, Neogene has become a clinical stage company, and expanded both its pipeline of next-generation TCR-Ts and its manufacturing capabilities.

Dr Rafaèle Tordjman, MD, PhD, Founder and CEO of Jeito Capital, commented: This exit, Jeito’s first, represents a strong validation of our strategy of sourcing high-quality innovation in biopharma and supporting strong leadership teams as they identify the fastest route to bring much needed therapies to patients. This deal also illustrates the growing pharma demand for breakthrough innovation and by working with AstraZeneca, a global leader in oncology, we have every confidence that Neogene will be able to transform therapeutic options for people with hard-to-treat cancers. My congratulations go to everyone at Neogene on this fantastic achievement.”

Rachel Mears, Partner at Jeito, and Board Member of Neogene Therapeutics, added: Over the course of our partnership, Neogene has successfully grown into a world-class cell therapy company, making key senior hires, expanding its pipeline of innovative TCR assets, and entering the clinic for the first time. Jeito has supported Neogene through key steps and the acquisition by AstraZeneca is a true demonstration that our approach combining deep scientific and industry expertise can create value for companies and in time, for patients as well.”

TCR-Ts are emerging as a promising therapeutic modality in cancer treatment. Most current cell therapy approaches in oncology focus on modifying the immune system’s T-cells to recognize proteins expressed on the surface of cancer cells. In contrast, TCR-Ts can recognize intracellular targets, including cancer-specific mutations, thereby potentially unlocking targets previously inaccessible using cell therapies.

Neogene was founded by Carsten Linnemann, PhD, Chief Executive Officer of Neogene, and Ton Schumacher, PhD, Principal Investigator at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, Oncode Institute in partnership with Two River, and cell therapy industry veteran Arie Belldegrun, MD, founder of Kite Pharma, Inc. and Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Allogene Therapeutics, Inc. With Jeito’s support, Neogene expanded its senior leadership team in key business functions including manufacturing, operations, and clinical development.

Carsten Linnemann, PhD, Chief Executive Officer, Neogene, said: “We are excited to work together with AstraZeneca towards our shared mission of transforming the treatment options for patients with solid tumours using next-generation T-cell receptor therapies. Our expertise, clinical portfolio and platform technologies in this area combined with AstraZeneca’s leadership in oncology and global footprint mean we are well-positioned to translate pioneering science into novel treatments for hard-to-treat cancers. Our thanks go to Jeito Capital and all of our investors for their guidance and support.”

AstraZeneca is building a cell therapy portfolio that aims to empower and equip the immune system’s T cells, to more effectively fight cancer. Their research teams are exploring new ways to target and arm CAR-Ts to increase their effectiveness in solid tumors and working to engineer off-the-shelf patient-ready therapies already developed from the cells of healthy donors.

Cloudian Launches On-Premises Object Storage for Snowflake Analytics Workloads

Solution Offers Public Cloud-like Scalability and Ease of Management in Customer Data Centers

SAN MATEO, Calif., Nov. 29, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Cloudian® today announced the launch of its HyperStore® on-prem data lake storage in partnership with Snowflake, the Data Cloud company. Cloudian and Snowflake customers will now have access to data stored on HyperStore that is deployed on-premises in either a private cloud or hybrid cloud configuration. Designed from its inception to be fully S3 compatible, HyperStore provides the scalability and ease-of-management of a public cloud within an organization’s data center, offering enhanced performance, full control over security, data sovereignty, and reduced cost.

The combination of Cloudian and Snowflake addresses increasing interest from customers in running analytics applications on data in-place rather than having to move that data to a public cloud, which can be costly and time consuming. In addition to providing private cloud storage, HyperStore can also be deployed as part of a hybrid cloud strategy, with data being replicated or tiered to public cloud service providers.

Reflecting Cloudian’s leadership in object storage, it is the only vendor named a Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for Distributed File Systems and Object Storage1 for three consecutive years2. Key HyperStore benefits include:

  • Modular, limitless scalability – Start with three low-cost nodes and expand simply by adding devices to the cluster without disrupting analytics workloads.
  • Data resiliency – Get up to 14 nines of resiliency with administrator-defined data replication or erasure coding.
  • Ransomware protection – Through S3 Object Lock, prevent malware from encrypting and/or deleting data — enabling quick, easy recovery without paying ransom — and meet governance and legal hold demands.
  • Military-grade security – Further secure data with features such as secure shell, integrated firewall, RBAC/IAM access controls, AES-256 server-side encryption for data at rest and SSL for data in transit, as well as certification with the most stringent government security requirements.
  • Multi-tenancy – Allow multiple users to store and analyze data within a single, shared data lakehouse — without compromising security — while also employing multi-tenant billing, metering and quality of service (QoS) controls.

“We look forward to seeing our joint customers unlock more value from their data through our partnership with Cloudian,” said Tarik Dwiek, Head of Technology Alliances at Snowflake. “Together, we work to enable our customers to take advantage of our joint solutions in order to move forward with mobilizing their data.”

“Analytics applications are providing new opportunities for organizations to leverage their digital assets, including on-premises data, to achieve their goals,” said Larry Meese, vice president of products and solutions, Cloudian. “We look forward to working with Snowflake to help customers capitalize on these opportunities by providing a robust, modern storage foundation.”

EYES ON IRAN ART ACTIVATION FACES THE U.N. IN NEW YORK

AN EVENT MARKED THE OPENING FEATURING HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON, GISSOU NIA,SHEIDA SOLEIMANI, SHIRIN NESHAT with SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY JON BATISTE

NEW YORK, Nov. 28, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Iranian artists Sheida Soleimani, Aphrodite Désirée Navab, Z, Icy and Sot, Shirin Neshat, Mahvash Mostala, Sepideh Mehraban, and Shirin Towfiq, alongside artists Hank Willis Thomas and JR, activate New York’s FDR Four Freedoms State Park with a provocative multi-day and multi-media art installation facing the United Nations entitled Eyes on Iran, November 28, 2022 – January 1, 2023.

Timed for the U.N. initiative, 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the installations are focused on the power of collective sight, with eyes facing the U.N., signifying the world’s eyes on Iran. ‘Eyes in the Sky’ flying billboards featuring artworks by Thomas and Mostala will fly on December 3 in New York City and on November 28 and 30 in Miami. An interactive installation by artist JR will take place on December 4. Eyes on Iran aims to amplify the mission of Woman, Life, Freedom, a campaign demanding that the Islamic Republic of Iran is removed from the Commission on the Status of Women.

The New York installation was unveiled at an event featuring former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Human Rights Lawyer and Director of the Strategic Litigation Project at the Atlantic Council Gissou Nia, artists Sheida Soleimani and Shirin Neshat, actor and singer Sepideh Moafi and more at FDR Four Freedoms State Park with a performance by Grammy award-winner Jon Batiste.

“We are calling on the world to take more action, starting at the United Nations. We must remove Iran from the U.N.’s Commission on the Status of Women. The fact that Iran is a member is a bitter irony,”  said Clinton. “What we are seeing is a revolution led by young women who are just not willing to live with the loss of freedom being imposed upon them.”

November 28 is significant because it is the anniversary of the 1943 Tehran Conference where Allied leaders, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin met in Tehran to coordinate the Allied military strategy and also stated a shared desire for the maintenance of the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Iran. Today, Woman, Life, Freedom shares the call for human rights for the people of Iran.

“The world’s eyes have been focused on the courage of Iranian citizens in their quest for freedom, in the face of increasingly grave danger,” said human rights activist Nazanin Afshin-Jam Mackay. “The Islamic Republic has censored them and attempted to blind the world to the potential of this movement. ‘Eyes on Iran’ is our response to their call for a free Iran.”

“When we say that we must keep our ‘Eyes on Iran,’ we mean that what is happening deserves not only our attention but our vision. In solidarity with the courageous Iranians who are risking their lives to express their human rights, many artists throughout the diaspora and beyond are bringing our vision to bear to ensure international audiences and institutions remain aware of what is happening in Iran, in their eyes and in their hearts, and feel moved to respond,” says artist Shirin Neshat.

An interactive installation by artist JR will take place on December 4 at FDR Four Freedoms State Park. Eyes on Iran aims to amplify the mission of Woman, Life, Freedom, a campaign demanding that the Islamic Republic of Iran is removed from the Commission on the Status of Women. Additional artists featured online including Emily Elise, Mahdis Nikou, Priscillia Kounkou Hoveydam, Ernesto Yerena, Hourdad, Golnar Adili, and Anonymous Artists.

In October, the campaign published a two-page ad in The New York Times with a petition signed by women leaders from more than 14 countries, including Clinton, demanding the U.N. Member States remove the Islamic Republic of Iran from the Commission on the Status of Women. Within days, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand, Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, and Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly, along with nearly 100,000 others, signed the petition.

The Woman, Life, Freedom campaign is a partnership between artist collective For Freedoms, a coalition of Iranian women leaders and Vital Voices Global Partnership, a non-profit elevating women leaders.

The application automatically identifies ASPECTS regions of the brain via AI and generates an ASPECT score sent directly to the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System). New features also include enhanced CT Liver Analysis [1], with tools to analyze and quantify the whole liver, liver segments, and user-defined regions of interest.

Integrated radiology workflow solutions improve clinical and operational efficiencies
Operational inefficiencies continue to challenge hospital systems as they strive to deliver the best care for patients. Optimizing clinical workflows can help eliminate waste and increase efficiency to help improve patient flow and deliver high-quality care. With the patient at the center, Philips takes a systems view of diagnostic imaging with smart user interfaces and workspaces to help improve patient caseload management, image acquisition, results interpretation, communication of findings, clinical collaboration, and follow-up.

Visitors to the Philips booth (#6730) at RSNA will experience the expanded Philips Radiology Workflow, a combination of solutions that support clear and efficient radiology workflows. Designed as vendor-neutral, the solution components are AI-enabled and can be implemented in any radiology department to assist customers by automating or accelerating routine and repetitive tasks and help to generate insights from large amounts of data.

In addition to the latest Advanced Visualization Workspace, at RSNA, Philips will debut the new Radiology Information System (RIS) natively integrated into Philips Image Management  Vue PACS. This new administrative and clinical workflow management solution allows the entire radiology department and ancillary users to enter, store, view, manage and transfer patient information with a quick and easy-to-use web solution. The newest release of RIS also expands patient-oriented functionalities, allowing patients to self-schedule their exams from the web, while the patient kiosk application gives patients the opportunity to check in when they arrive at their healthcare facility.

Philips will also demonstrate how it combines the power of AI with deep clinical knowledge to create solutions that integrate into the workflows of healthcare providers and people’s daily health routines. Philips’ AI-enabled PACS provides automatic analysis of medical data and extraction of relevant information to generate meaningful – and actionable – insights that enable more precise and personalized patient care. It also allows access to a large portfolio of validated third-party AI algorithms that integrate seamlessly into the existing radiology workflow.
