Some Measures will stay in Place as the Country’s Move towards Endemic Phase

In order for Brunei Darussalam to achieve towards the endemic state, it will take about 80 percent or a bit higher of the population to be fully vaccinated or protected. The Ministry of Health need to ensure that people who are most at risk especially aged 60 years old and above are protected and vaccinated.

 

During an interview session, Consultant of the Public Health at the Ministry of Health said that, some measures will stay in place as we move towards into the endemic phase, people will continue wearing mask in crowded places and maintaining hand hygiene, as these also provide protection against COVID-19.

 

There are things that public should be doing as a community during an endemic phase, for those who have not vaccinated were advice to get the vaccine. It is important to have both doses of the vaccine to give you the best protection. The Ministry of Health will be open up a booster programme towards the end of this year, for the age of 50, people with chronic conditions and also the frontliner.
