Cagayan de Oro City - Sipaka Heights, a renowned religious pilgrimage site in Misamis Oriental, will be closed to visitors during Holy Week for a tourism infrastructure upgrade, including the construction of a new zipline facility.
According to Philippines News Agency, officer in charge of the Talisayan Municipal Project Management Office, the closure is part of the town's long-term plan to enhance tourism. Despite the temporary closure, Talisayan Mayor Rico Taray has directed local government personnel to support activities organized by the Catholic Church in the town center. The upgrade aims to enrich the visitor experience while preserving the site's spiritual significance, with alternative venues being prepared for Holy Week observances.
