Post: Mangrove Sapling Planting Initiative at AKAR Carbon Project Site

Serasa beach: Participants of the Outreach and Policy Exchange Seminar took part in a mangrove sapling planting activity at the AKAR Carbon Project site in Serasa Beach on the afternoon of June 25th. This initiative, led by the Poni Foundation in collaboration with ASTARI, concentrated on nature-based restoration approaches, community livelihoods, and blue carbon financing.

According to Radio Television Brunei, the mangrove planting effort is aimed at transforming environmental stewardship into sustainable economic value. Emphasizing a coherent, science-based approach, this initiative seeks to protect biodiversity and strengthen the resilience of the country's marine ecosystems. These ecosystems are increasingly under environmental pressure due to climate change, and such efforts are crucial in mitigating these impacts.
