Serasa: In an effort to transform Brunei Darussalam into a regional centre for premium seafood processing and an integral link in the global seafood supply chain, Gropoint Sendirian Berhad held a groundbreaking ceremony for its Seafood Processing Plant Project. The ceremony took place at Serasa Fisheries Centre and was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies and Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the proposed facility will serve as an integrated seafood processing platform focusing on tuna and other value-added seafood products for regional and international markets. With a planned processing capacity of up to 60 metric tonnes per day and annual throughput of more than 20,000 metric tonnes, the project emphasizes food safety, product quality, responsible sourcing, and compliance with internationally recognized standards. Also present at the ceremony was Dayang Hajah Tutiaty binti Haji Abdul Wahab, Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.
