Public Reminded To Practise Preventive Measures

The Ministry of Health also reminds the public to continue practising preventive and control measures since the trend of cases of Influenza-Like Illness, ILI in this country has remained at a high level for the past few weeks.

 

The measures include isolating oneself from others throughout the period of experiencing symptoms, wearing a face mask and frequently washing hands with water and soap or using disinfectant liquid, which are similar measures to control the infection of COVID-19. The public, especially children who are below 5 years old, individuals aged 60 years and above and those with chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and others, are also advised to get an influenza vaccination annually. The public’s cooperation is also needed in uploading their respective ART results, whether positive or negative in the BruHealth application.

 

Meanwhile the epidemiological monitoring in Brunei Darussalam shows that the trend for diarrhea or gastroenteritis has begun to show a reduction. In this regard, the public is reminded to always be careful and vigilant especially in ensuring that food and drinks consumed are cooked thoroughly, clean and safe to eat. Anyone experiencing persistent diarrhea, nausea and vomiting is advised to seek immediate medical attention.
