In the afternoon, the session also heard a proposal by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy for the second and third reading of the bill called An Act to Supply A Collection of Monies From the Consolidated Fund For Financial Year 2023-2024 and to allocate the sum for specific purpose.
Inline with the rules of the Legislative Council, Yang Berhormat sought permission from the Speaker of the Legislative Council to postpone the Standing Order 28(2) of the Legislative Council to give way for proposals to be made. Yang Berhormat said the request was solely for the council to carry out duties smoothly and in a more organised manner.
