Post: Presentation of Amil Appointment Letters for Nationwide Tithe Collection

Bandar Seri Begawan: 351 Amils have been appointed to collect tithe across 143 areas nationwide for the years 2025 and 2026. Tithe collection and payment will be facilitated at mosques, suraus, religious halls, Amil's Offices, and the Department of Zakat, Waqaf and Baitulmal Affairs in Brunei Muara District, along with its branches in the Religious Affairs Offices across Belait, Tutong, and Temburong Districts. The Department of Zakat, Waqaf and Baitulmal Affairs organized the presentation of Appointment Letters to the Amils, held simultaneously in all four districts on the afternoon of February 27th.

According to Radio Television Brunei, in Brunei Muara District, 196 Amils were appointed and received their letters, officiated by Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs. The ceremony took place at Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque, Kampung Manggis Madang.

In Belait District, 23 appointed Amils were presented with their letters by Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Japar bin Haji Mat Dain @ Maidin, Deputy State Mufti, at Zainab Mosque in Lumut.

In Tutong District, a similar event occurred at Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam Mosque, Kampung Sengkarai, where 58 appointed Amils received their letters from Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Rector of Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University.

Meanwhile, in Temburong District, 27 appointed Amils were presented with their appointment letters by Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Dennie bin Haji Abdullah, Assistant Mufti (IFTA'), at Utama Muhammad Salleh Mosque in Bangar Town.
