A local man was sentenced by the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court for two offences under Section 146, Excise Order 2006.
Awang Jamudin bin Hj Suhaili, aged 55, pleaded guilty on possession of 100 cartons of cigarettes of various brands, 2,784 cans and 696 bottles of alcoholic drinks of various brands. The accused was sentenced to a fine of $80,000 or 17 months imprisonment in default for the first offence and $38,300 or 14 months imprisonment in default for the second offence.
