Filipino Conjoined Twins to Undergo Separation Surgery in Saudi Arabia

MANILA: Filipino conjoined twins are scheduled to fly to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for surgical separation on May 5. During a media briefing, KSA Ambassador to the Philippines, Hisham Sultan Abdullah Alqahtani, highlighted that this medical intervention is part of the kingdom's commitment to humanitarian initiatives, specifically in the realm of conjoined twin separation where the KSA has become a leader. The twins, Akhizah and Ayeesha Yusoph, will receive the treatment free of charge, reflecting the kingdom's ongoing contribution to humanitarian causes.

According to Philippines News Agency, this surgery is not just a medical intervention but also a chance for a better future for the twins. The procedure, which costs over PHP500,000, will be overseen by a Saudi medical team and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. The twins' mother, Hashima Yusoph, will accompany them throughout the process.
