Tutong: A company has been issued a compound fine by the Enforcement Unit of the Tutong District Office for violating the Miscellaneous Offences Act 2021. Perusahaan Katabi Mala, situated in Kuala Abang, Jalan Layong within the Tutong District, was fined $1,000 and given a seven-day period to settle the penalty.
According to Radio Television Brunei, failure to pay the fine within the stipulated timeframe may result in the company being brought to court. If found guilty, they could face a fine ranging from a minimum of $2,000 to a maximum of $10,000 for a second offence. For any subsequent offences, the penalties increase to a minimum fine of $10,000 and up to $30,000, along with the possibility of imprisonment for up to 12 months or both.
