Post: New Technology in Road Repair Discussed at Legislative Council Session

Bandar Seri Begawan: The First Meeting of the 21st Legislative Council session on its sixth day, 6th March 2025, focused on the use of new technology in road repair works and actions to address bullying issues among students. The council commenced with queries about the Ministry of Development's road repair efforts, raised by Yang Berhormat Awang Amran bin Haji Maidin, Yang Berhormat Awang Mohammad bin Abdullah @ Lim Swee Ann, and Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Mohd Salleh bin Haji Othman.

According to Radio Television Brunei, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid, Minister of Development, explained that a total of 29.5 million dollars has been allocated through 18 projects for road paving and repair works across the country. The funding comes from the annual budget, annual recurrent, and national development planning.

The Ministry of Development is also testing several new technologies for road repair works, including innovative road paving materials. These technologies aim to make future road repair works more effective and cost-efficient. Currently, trials are being conducted at Jalan Utama Mentiri.
