The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has successfully distributed PHP138 million worth of medical aid to over 23,000 individuals in need across the country for the month of October.
According to Philippines News Agency, the PCSO, the assistance reached 23,192 beneficiaries through its Medical Assistance Program (MAP), targeting several regions. The National Capital Region saw 2,310 indigents receiving PHP30.5 million, while Northern and Central Luzon beneficiaries numbered 5,266, obtaining PHP33.8 million. The Southern Tagalog and Bicol Region received PHP28.2 million, helping 6,355 individuals. In the Visayas, 4,874 individuals received PHP24.9 million, and Mindanao's aid amounted to PHP21.1 million for 4,387 recipients. PCSO's MAP is designed to supplement medical costs for Filipinos facing financial hurdles, covering hospital confinement, chemotherapy, dialysis, and post-transplant medicines. General Manager Melquiades Robles called for the public's support of PCSO gaming products to ensure ongoing funding for these essential health services.
