Post: Meralco Assures 24/7 Availability During All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days

Manila — The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has confirmed that its systems and personnel will remain fully operational during the "Undas" holidays on November 1 and 2.

According to Philippines News Agency, the distribution utility is prepared to respond to any electricity-related concerns from its customers around the clock during these special non-working holidays.

Zaldarriaga stated that while Meralco Business Centers would be closed from November 1 to 2, the company's personnel would continue to be on standby to address any issues related to its facilities. He advised consumers to adhere to electrical safety and energy efficiency guidelines, particularly those planning to be away from their homes, by unplugging appliances. Meralco also cautioned against "octopus wiring," which involves the use of a single power outlet for multiple extension cords, as it could lead to overheating and pose fire risks.

Furthermore, Zaldarriaga reported that there were no significant power interruptions during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election (BSKE) held on Monday. Minor incidents were promptly dealt with, thanks to strategically positioned crews throughout Meralco's service area. He expressed gratitude to Meralco personnel for their continuous work and to local government partners for their ongoing support during the election.
