Post: Language Month Celebration

The Language Month celebration is one of the platforms that continue to support and promote the importance of dignifying the Malay language and its implementation, especially in the era of development and modernity. The Language Month celebration, which is also participated by departments under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, is a proud initiative, at the same time showing integrated cooperation towards supporting the empowerment of the Malay language. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports said this while launching the Language Month 2023 Celebration at The Mall, Gadong. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohammad also said, as 'purih Brunei', we must shoulder the responsibility to defend it as a national identity and not let the Malay language die out with time.

This year's Language Month celebration is filled with a number of activities and programmes including the Comic Writing and Drawing Workshop and the Brunei Book Festival 2023. In addition, the event is also highlighted with Poetry and Debate Presentations. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports presented the prizes and awards to Outstanding Students and the winners of Competitions and Contests organised by DBP. The presentation of Language Ambassador 2023 to Professor Ampuan Dr. Haji Brahim bin Ampuan Haji Tengah was also held. The Language Month is intended to dignify the Malay language as the country's official language and the identity of the nation.
