The importance of alimony in the family and how to apply Islamic values that can promote justice and family well-being were emphasised during the Forum titled "Nafkah Isteri dan Anak-anak Dalam Undang-undang Keluarga Islam di Negara Brunei Darussalam''.
Present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. In his keynote speech, Yang Arif Haji Awang Hassan bin Haji Awang Metali outlined the process of dividing the alimony of wife and children. About 3 hundred people comprised of civil servants, students from higher learning institutions, members of associations as well as members of the takmir committee and Mosque's Muslimah participated in the forum. The forum held in conjunction with International Women's Day organised by the Brunei Darussalam Women's Graduates Association took place at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
