His Majesty Sultan of Brunei Engages in Diplomatic Exchange Ceremony
Bandar seri begawan: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, held a diplomatic exchange ceremony at Istana Nurul Iman, presenting and receiving Letters of Credence. During the event, His Majesty presented Letters of Credence to Brunei Darussalam’s newly-appointed envoys and received the same from newly-appointed foreign envoys to the country.
According to Radio Television Brunei, His Majesty first presented Letters of Credence to several newly-appointed ambassadors and high commissioners from Brunei Darussalam. The appointees include His Excellency Adnan bin Haji Mohd Ja’afar for the United States of America, His Excellency Wan Hadfi Lutfan bin Haji Abdul Latif for Japan, and His Excellency Haji Sulaini bin Haji Said for Kuwait. Other appointments include Retired Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matseruddin for Myanmar, Her Excellency Ang Lay Ling for Canada, and Her Excellency Siti Arnyfariza binti Haji Mohd Jaini for India.
His Majesty then received Letters of Credence from foreign envoys appointed to Brunei Darussalam. These included His Excellency U Sein Oo from Myanmar, His Excellency Heuankeo Sangsomsak from Laos, His Excellency Ramu Abbagani from India, His Excellency Tamer Mansy from Canada, and His Excellency Weert B¶rner from Germany.
Following the formal exchange, His Majesty granted an audience to both Brunei’s newly-appointed envoys and the foreign envoys. The ceremony was attended by notable figures such as Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister’s Office.
