Gangwon - The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced that tickets for the 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Gangwon, South Korea, will be free of charge for all events except the opening ceremony in Gangneung. The Games are scheduled to run from January 19 to February 1, 2024, with tickets already on sale via the official online platform.
According to Philippines News Agency, The opening ceremony, set for January 19 at Gangneung Oval and PyeongChang Dome, will have ticket prices ranging from 30,000 to 100,000 won (USD22 to 74) for Gangneung, while access to the PyeongChang Dome will be free, though tickets must still be requested. The YOG will utilize several facilities from the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games and take place across four locations: Gangneung, PyeongChang, Jeongseon, and Hoengseong. Approximately 1,900 athletes from about 80 National Olympic Committees are expected to participate. The IOC's Athletes Department also announced 17 Olympic champions, medalists, and Olympians as Athlete Role Models (ARMs) for the Games, who will guide young athletes in their sporting and personal development. The ARM Program, a key part of the Youth Olympic Games since 2010, provides young athletes with the opportunity to learn from experienced Olympians, embodying the values of Olympism and serving as beacons of excellence, respect, and friendship.
