First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos Celebrates President Marcos Jr. on Father’s Day
MANILA — First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos took to social media to honor her husband, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., on Father’s Day, sharing a heartfelt message alongside a family portrait collage. The tribute highlighted the personal side of the President as a father to their three sons.
According to Philippines News Agency, the couple’s sons include Senior House Deputy Majority Leader and Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandro, Joseph Simon, and William Vincent. Her simple but poignant message read, “Happy Father’s Day,” celebrating the role of the President as both a national leader and a family man.
The observance of Father’s Day was echoed by other high-ranking officials, including Senate President Francis Escudero, who praised fathers as the “bedrock of our families and society.” In his social media tribute, Escudero lauded fathers’ strength, dedication, and nurturing love, which he described as fundamental to the future of families. He accompanied his message with personal photos of his twins, Quino and Chesi.
Further sentiments were shared by immediate past Senate President Miguel Zubiri, who expressed joy and blessing in being a father, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez, the President’s cousin, who acknowledged the joys and challenges of fatherhood. Romualdez emphasized the enduring influence of his own father and the legacy of values passed down through generations.
The national leaders’ posts not only celebrated their personal experiences as fathers but also extended gratitude to all fathers for their indispensable role in their families and communities. The collective messages from these officials highlighted the importance of father figures in society and called for recognition of their contributions beyond just Father’s Day.
