DTI Issues Notices of Violations to 11 Establishments in Negros Oriental, Siquijor
NEGROS ORIENTAL – The Department of Trade and Industry in Region – Central Visayas (DTI-7) has issued notices of violations to 11 establishments in Negros Oriental and Siquijor for non-compliance with product standards. Jade Krystle Bato, DTI-Negros Oriental planning coordinator and public information officer assigned to the Consumer Protection Division, revealed this information on Friday.
According to Philippines News Agency, the establishments were found violating trade laws, including the sale of sub-standard products without the required Philippine Standard quality/safety mark. The Regional Enforcement Team, comprising DTI personnel from the regional office and four Central Visayas provinces, conducted a three-day inspection and enforcement operation. Estefania Suralta, DTI Regional Consumer Protection Division chief, led the inspection, which focuses on establishments selling products under mandatory certification, such as hardware, spare parts, electronic devices, and household appliances. The implicated establishments will face adjudication to determine penalties, and the non-compliant products have been removed from shelves and sealed for evidence presentation.
